Ron Delano Fellowship Award

Each year, the Motown Invitational Classic Tournament is proud to recognize an individual or individuals with the Spirit of Ron Delano Fellowship Award. These awardees generously give of their time, energy and resources in support of worthwhile causes in our community.

Some have demonstrated the wonderful qualities of friendship;  have been tireless activists with local LGBT organizations;  and others, led the fight in the streets against HIV. 

Ronnie, as he was affectionately known to his friends, sadly lost his battle to AIDS. But when we think of him, we don’t think of his final days with us. Rather, we are 

quick to remember his generous giving spirit, his limitless energy – whether performing in shows or raising funds for 

a charity – and most of all, his incredible sense of humor.
